The Camping & Boating Advisor is responsible for helping customers with camping and boating parts, accessories, and RV show-throughs. Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with RV, camping, and boating parts and accessories
- Help customers choose the right products for their camping, boating, towing, and outdoor recreation needs
- Conduct RV show-throughs and help new owners feel comfortable with the features and basic functions of their RV
- Explain parts, accessories, and product options in a clear and helpful way
- Recommend useful accessories, upgrades, and add-ons based on the customer’s needs
- Support the parts department with stocking, organizing, merchandising, and inventory as needed
- Work with customers in person, over the phone, and through other store communication channels
- Help keep the parts and accessories area clean, organized, and easy for customers to shop
- Build strong relationships with customers and help create a friendly, helpful store experience
- Jump in where needed to support the team during busy times
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in an RV, marine, automotive, powersports, parts, retail, or customer service role preferred
- Knowledge of RV systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, towing, and basic operation, is a plus
- Knowledge of marine parts, boating accessories, or outdoor recreation products is a plus
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain products clearly
- Comfortable learning parts, accessories, inventory, and product systems
- Team-focused mindset with a willingness to help in multiple areas of the store
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dealership and service area for extended periods of time, up to 8+ hours per shift
- Frequently lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs., such as parts, accessories, or tools
- Occasionally kneel, crouch, bend, or reach to inspect RVs and marine vehicles
- Ability to climb in and out of RVs, boats, and truck beds as needed for show-throughs and inspections
- Comfortable working indoors in an office/service area and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
Compensation:
- $45,000 - $60,000 annually
- Compensation begins with hourly/base pay during training. After training is completed, compensation shifts to include commission based on performance.
